Los Angeles Lakers have yet to find their footing in the preseason, as the team hasn’t had much to be excited about through four preseason games.

The same goes for the latest preseason loss to the Suns; however, they were certainly some bright spots, according to head coach Frank Vogel.

Bazemore stood out in the Lakers’ loss vs. Phoenix, getting the start at small forward and helping the Lakers make a run during the third quarter.

“He was a star tonight. He was exceptional, really on both sides of the ball but in particular on the defensive end,” Vogel said. “Four steals, just numerous plays where he’s in the passing lane, working to contain, pressuring his own man.

“Really excelled on the defensive end and then knocked down a few threes as well and played extra-pass basketball. So, really excited about what he’s doing for us.”

Bazemore’s importance increased after several key rotational players went down with injuries the last few days. More precisely, Trevor Ariza, Talen Horton-Tucker, and Malik Monk will miss significant time at the beginning of the season.
