Minnesota Timberwolves parted ways with Gersson Rosas, who was the president of basketball operations the last two seasons.

Minnesota’s owners Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez have communicated they are fond of Philadelphia 76ers general manager Elton Brand, per Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.

Both teams were involved in rumours regarding three-time All-Star Ben Simmons, who asked out of Philly a few weeks ago. Rosas was reportedly unwilling to part ways with any of the Timberwolves’ young talent in a potential deal for Simmons.

After Daryl Morey was appointed president of basketball operations in Philly during the 2020 offseason, Brand’s role in the front office was reduced.

Despite that, the Sixers offered a contract extension to Brand as a show of support that the franchise still valued his contributions to the executive board.

As for the Timberwolves, the team will rely on Sachin Gupta to run the day-to-day operation for the team until they make a final decision on their front office leader.
