Warriors reportedly ‘divided’ on whether to pursue Ben Simmons’ trade or not

Golden State Warriors could be among the teams interested in a Ben Simmons’ trade, but the front office is still divided on whether the three-time All-Star will be a good fit for the team.

(per NBC Sports Bay Area):

“The Warriors, according to sources, are divided on the subject. Some see great potential in having two skilled players thriving in the ball-movement principles, especially in transition. Simmons also happens to be six years younger than Green.

Others, however, believe having two non-shooters on the court is too crippling for an offense, even with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, to overcome, particularly in the postseason.”

The Warriors already have a non-shooting point forward in their starting five in Draymond Green. Simmons could play in a similar role, if he joins Golden State.

However, clearly the Warriors will be lacking spacing, even with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompsom on the court. The Sixers and Simmons seem ready to move on after disappointing performances in the playoffs.

Philadelphia put Simmons in the trade block, hoping to receive a fellow All-Star player. That did not happen, and trade talks on Simmons were stalled.
