Los Angeles Lakers have not yet concluded their roster heading to the training camp for the 2021-22 season campaign. According to Chris Fedor of cleveland.com, the Lakers might be interested in signing Svi Mykhailiuk to a minimum deal.

“The Cavs will keep looking for a capable backup 3. This is unlikely to be the final move made this offseason. Garrison Matthews, Denzel Valentine and Svi Mykhailiuk are free agency options. Mykhailiuk, sources say, may join the Los Angeles Lakers on a minimum deal,” Fedor wrote.

Mykhailiuk has played for the LA franchise. He was drafted by the 17-time NBA champions with the 47th pick in the 2018 draft. He spent the last three seasons of his career with the OKC Thunder and the Detroit Pistons.

Last season, the sharpshooting wing played 66 games, split between Detroit and OKC. He averaged 8.5 points per game on 41.1% shooting from the floor in two young rebuilding teams.

Mykhailiuk could have a role in this season’s roster as the 13th man in the Lakers’ roster, but considering the long season and the franchise’s decision to go with a veteran roster, the shooting guard could receive more minutes throughout the year.
