According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Los Angeles Lakers will release small forward Alfonzo McKinnie who will become a free agent. McKinnie still had two more years left on his minimum-salary contract with the Lakers, but his salaries for the next two seasons were fully non-guaranteed. This past season, the 28-year-old averaged 3.1 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.2 assists while shooting 51.6 percent from the floor and 41 percent from deep. The Lakers could now sign up to three more players in free agency.
