Boston Celtics may not re-sign Evan Fournier this offseason as the franchise is not ready to meet Fournier’s demands, per Mark Murphy of Boston Herald.
According to the report, Fournier is expected to demand a four-year, $80 million deal in the free agency. The French national is an unrestricted free agent, and he can join any team that will meet his asking price.

“According to a league source, negotiations between the Celtics and Evan Fournier are close to stalling, with the team unwilling to meet the valuable wing player’s asking price of $80 million over four years.”
The Celtics already acquired Josh Richardson and Kris Dunn as insurance policy in case Fournier does not return to Boston. Last February, Boston acquired Fournier via a trade with the Magic sending two second round picks to Orlando.
Fournier had a strong run in the playoffs, even though the Celtics did not make it out of the first round of the postseason. The Frenchman averaged 15.4 points on 43.3% shooting from deep in the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
