The Los Angeles Lakers have pulled off a blockbuster deal, acquiring former MVP Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and last night’s No. 22 overall pick.

Veteran sports media personality Chris Broussard joined First Things First to talk about the trade, and what it would mean for Westbrook’s legacy if he should finally win his first championship with the Lakers:

“If Russ wins a championship it goes from, ‘What a great individual player, what a great athlete, what a spectacle’ to, ‘Man, this dude is one of the greatest players we have ever seen!'” Broussard says.

In his first and only season in Washington, Westbrook, who still has two years and $91M left on his contract, averaged 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 11.7 assists, although he shot just 43.9% from the floor and 31.5% from deep.
