Washington Wizards superstar Bradley Beal could potentially make a trade request before the NBA Draft, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.

Beal, 28, is under contract for the next season and holds a player option for the 2022-23 season. He was expected to make a decision regarding his future plans this offseason.

“He knows he has to make a decision before the draft,” one source with direct knowledge of Beal’s thinking told Bleacher Report. For the past year, people familiar with Beal’s dedicated relationship to the Wizards have consistently rebuffed the notion he had interest in playing elsewhere. Yet a second source close to Beal, when contacted by B/R, confirmed the situation is now fluid.”

If Beal decides to move on from Washington, he will do it for an ‘established winning environment’, Fischer reports. Beal finished his ninth season with the Wizards averaging a career-high 31.3 points per game.

Several teams could express interest in acquiring the former Florida standout, such as the Golden State Warriors, the Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia 76ers and the Miami Heat.
