Los Angeles Lakers’ big Montrezl Harrell faces one of the biggest decisions of his career after a shaky first year with the LA franchise.

On July 29, Harrell will have to decide whether to run it back with the Los Angeles Lakers or test unrestricted free agency.

According to the Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, Harrell may opt to remain with the Lakers, leaning towards picking up his $9.7 million player option for the 2021-22 season.

“The most recent intel on Harrell suggests he may be leaning toward opting in,” Pincus wrote in his latest piece.

Trezz remained effective during the regular season, averaging 13.5 points on 62.2% shooting and 6.9 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game for LA.

However, his role diminished during the latest part of the season and the playoffs as the Lakers’ coaching staff gave more minutes to Andre Drummond and Marc Gasol due to the lack of size and Harrell’s known shortcomings in defense.
