Brooklyn Nets vs. the Los Angeles Lakers was the anticipated matchup of the 2021 NBA Finals prior to the start of the season, especially after Brooklyn added James Harden via trade.

Spencer Dinwiddie, who lost all of last season with an ACL injury, believes the Nets would have swept the Lakers in a potential Finals matchup if both teams were to remain healthy.

The Nets would almost certainly be the finalists if they were healthy. Alas, James Harden and Kyrie Irving went down with injuries during the postseason.

Kyrie Irving suffered an ankle sprain in Game 4 before missing the remainder of the series and James Harden went down with a Grade 2 right hamstring strain in the opening minutes of Game 1 only to return as a shell of his former self in Games 5-7 vs. the Bucks.
