Kawhi Leonard’s injury status received a major update as the Clippers are set to face the Suns in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals Wednesday.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Leonard and the Clippers are not ruling out a return, if the team makes the NBA Finals.

The Clippers are down 3-2 in the series vs. Phoenix, and they are hoping to force a Game 7 and return from a 3-1 deficit in the WCF series.

Leonard will miss his 8th straight game after suffering a right knee injury in Game 4 versus the Utah Jazz. The Clippers’ superstar averaged 30.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 2.1 steals through 11 playoff games this season.

At the top of Leonard’s injury situation, the Clippers will miss Ivica Zubac, who has been ruled out with a sprained right MCL that kept him out of Game 5 on Monday in Phoenix.
