A recent move on social media by the Los Angeles Lakers stars sparked speculations among the team’s faithful. LeBron James and Anthony Davis were spotted by an Instagram user as they started following Nina Westbrook, wife of the Wizards star Russell Westbrook.
Some Lakers fans interpreted this as an early recruitment of Russ, even though a trade that would send him to Los Angeles is hardly possible due to his contract. The 32-year-old former NBA MVP is on a 5-year contract with the Wizards which expires at the end of the 2022-2023 season. He is set to earn over $44 million the coming season.
Westbrook averaged 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds and 11.7 assists per game for Washington this season. He helped the Wizards qualify for the playoffs as the number eight seed in the Eastern Conference. Russ and co were eliminated in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers.
