Jayson Tatum commits to play for Team USA in Olympics

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum has committed to playing for USA Basketball at this summer’s Tokyo Olympics, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

Tatum joins Portland Trail Blazers’ Damian Lillard and Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green as players committed to play for Team USA this summer.

Tatum and the Boston Celtics lost to the Brooklyn Nets in 5 games in the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs, but his skill set was on full display.

The 23-year-old averaged 30.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.6 blocks per game in the series, including a 50-point performance in a Game 3 win.

Tatum made his debut for the USA Men’s Senior National Team at the 2019 FIBA World Cup where they finished seventh place.
