Golden State Warriors were unable to finish the season as part of the 16 teams that made the postseason, after finishing the play-in tournament with two losses.

Steve Kerr claimed the season was a success despite the disappointing finish and Mat Barnes agreed with the Warriors’ head coach during his appearance on ESPN’s “The Jump” on Tuesday.

(via NBC Sports Bay Area):

“I completely agree it was a success. Steph had a great year and he stayed healthy. He’s coming into next season healthy. Draymond did the same thing. Like [Vince Carter] said, the young guys got valuable minutes.

I love [Jordan] Poole, love Juan Toscano-Anderson, saw flashes from Andrew Wiggins particularly in the play-in game that I really liked; young [Kelly] Oubre, [James] Wiseman they are trending in the right direction.

Hopefully, Klay comes back and regains his form soon and I think this Warriors team has one more run. They may still need one more piece, but I think they have one more run before Steph and Klay are done.”

The Warriors had many ups and downs during the season as their young roster was trying to create a consistent identity around Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

If the Warriors can build on their current season’s run and add a healthy Klay Thompson back to the lineup, they could definitely being among the best teams in the West.
