Anthony Davis had a season-high 42 points as he led the Los Angeles Lakers to a big-time win over the Phoenix Suns. It was his 10th game after returning from a calf injury.
After the game, the 28-year-old star forward was asked how close to his full old self. “Like 20 percent of my old self,” Davis said. “I’m kidding. I feel good. I’m getting my legs back, I’m getting my rhythm back, I’m getting my steps back on both ends of the floor. I feel good. I’m getting better each game, getting my wind back each game.”
This season, Davis is averaging 21.3 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3 assists per game for the defending NBA champions.
