The Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel does not think that his team’s place in the standings will affect how soon LeBron James will return to action.

According to him, the four-time NBA champion is trying to come back as fast as possible but is making sure he doesn’t rush it and get injured again.

“I think it affects confidence of the group. I don’t think it affects LeBron’s timeline,” Vogel said after the win over the Phoenix Suns. “Bron’s going to try to get in there as much he can to get a rhythm without agitating the ankle. I don’t think how Anthony’s playing or how our seeding situation looks like is going to change LeBron’s timeline.”

James was out for six weeks with an ankle injury. He returned for two games and has been out again due to issues in his ankle.

The Lakers are currently in the play-in tournament zone as they occupy the 7th place in the Western Conference. Vogel is not optimistic that his team can break into the top 6 and get a direct playoff qualification.
