Jayson Tatum was the driving force for the Boston Celtics Friday as he led the team to an OT comeback win vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Tatum became the youngest Celtic to post 50+ points in the history of the franchise surpassing Larry Bird, who did it at age 26. That was also a career-best performance for Tatum.
He also became just the third player in the history of the team to record a 50-point regular season game. Only Boston’s legends Kevin McHale and Larry Bird did the same in the past.
“It’s kinda hard to kinda put into words,” Tatum said on being referred in the same sentence as Bird. “Anytime you’re mentioned in any category with someone like that, one of the greatest players ever, is an honor.”
