Sports journalist Jason Whitlock does not think that the reaction from Russell Westbrook to Stephen A. Smith’s criticism was warranted.

The 32-year-old guard was criticized by Smith for not having won a championship, despite producing high numbers in stats while also playing alongside other NBA stars.

It appears that Westbrook took the comments personally as he defended himself by directing the conversation from his NBA achievements to his personal experiences.

According to Whitlock, there was no controversy in Smith’s comments. “Westbrook’s skin is way too thin. SAS said nothing remotely controversial or unfair,” he tweeted.

It is his 13th season in the league for the Wizards star. During this time, he was named an All-Star nine times and also won the MVP in 2017.
