The team already has three superstars on the roster, namely Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. The addition of Griffin and Aldridge is considered by some as an attempt to build a “super team“.
However, the Nets head coach Steve Nash does not think much of such comments likening his team to villains. He remembered a quote from Griffin on how he was a bad player for two years until he joined Brooklyn.
“I don’t even know what that means, villains, in the context of it,” Nash said, per Brian Lewis of New York Post. “[A staffer] just told me that Blake’s comment this morning was, ‘Hold on, everyone told me I suck for the last two years, now everyone’s saying I’m the villain because I’m here.’ So a lot of it is just narratives and people love to talk hoops and barbershop and whatever it may be.”
The Nets are currently in the second place in the Eastern Conference behind the Philadelphia 76ers. They have 32 wins and 15 losses while the Sixers are 32-14.
