Marc Gasol returned to action for the Los Angeles Lakers after being out for almost a month due to Covid-19. The 36-year-old center had 5 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 15 minutes of play.

After the game, he was asked about how the Lakers need to play in absence of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. “We have to be more consistent, especially offensively,” he said.

“We had too many breakdowns on the open court. We know once we set our defense when we communicate and everyone is tied together our chances of getting stops are much much higher and that fuels our offense, that gets us going.

“We had too many breakdowns. Too many breakdowns on transition, too many that we’re there but we’re not there. You have to close out all the way, you have to do the extra step. Offensively keep sharing the ball, keep making the next play, don’t get stagnant, don’t be predictable and play as a team. I think we’re not getting the results that we want in 48 minutes. But we’re getting better as a team and I think guys understanding how important is to play with one another.”
