The Atlanta Hawks were on a path of upsetting one of the top teams in the Western Conference, the Los Angels Clippers, as they held a 21-point lead midway through the third quarter. Then Ty Lue, the head coach of the Clippers, decided to bench his starters.

From then on, Los Angeles turned the game around as their second unit helped win the third quarter by 7 points. A strong fourth quarter, which the Clippers won by 17 points, earned them a win (119-110).

Superstar forward Kawhi Leonard, who went on the bench during the third quarter, said postgame that he believed in his team and enjoyed watching his teammates make a comeback.

“I’m a team player, I still believed. There was a lot of time left, about 7 minutes, once I checked out. It was good, it was fun to watch,” Leonard said, per Mirjam Swanson.
