The Houston Rockets are signing forward Anthony Lamb out of their G League affiliate, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, on a two-way contract, according to Shams Charania.

The Rockets are also waiving rookie guard Mason Jones in a corresponding move, according to Kelly Iko of The Athletic.

Jones averaged 5.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 22 games (11.1 minutes per game.)

After being drafted No. 6 overall in the G League Draft by the Canton Charge, Lamb was traded to Rio Grande Valley on Feb. 25.

The 23-year-old averaged 11.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steal per game in 12 total G League games with the Charge and Rio Grande Valley.

In six games with Rio Grande Valley, Lamb averaged 18.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in 33.8 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-6 forward was with the Detroit Pistons last December on a training camp invitation but was ultimately waived and will now have the opportunity to start his NBA career.
