The game against the Sacramento Kings was the last one for the Los Angeles Lakers players before a long awaited break. The reigning NBA champions will play next against the Indiana Pacers on March 12.

According to the Lakers’ head coach Frank Vogel, his players were disappointed with the defeat and were not thinking about the opportunity to take a rest.

“Guys are hurt, they’re hurting,” Vogel said. “They competed their tails off. They fought hard enough to get a win and the ball bounces on the rim three times. And with the game on the line we have a couple of pullbacks right there. Just weren’t able to close it out. But our guys wanted to win this game very badly and they’re disappointed.”

Following the loss, the Lakers dropped to fourth place in the Western Conference. With 24 wins and 13 losses, they have the same record as the third-placed Clippers. Looking down, the Lakers have a four-win advantage over the Trail Blazers (20-14).
