Dwyane Wade grew up in Chicago and had the great Michael Jordan right in his backyard. Wade says Jordan was his favorite player growing up, but there was another Chicago guy he idolized as well. DePaul University’s Quentin Richardson was that other player for Dwyane.

(Via NBA on TNT):

“Outside of Michael Jordan, Q-Rich was my favorite player. Me and Q-Rich shared the same coach, Gary Adams. RIP to Gary. Gary told me to watch Quentin Richardson’s game. He was like ‘If you want to be a pro, do this.’ So I played exactly like Q-Rich did in high school. I idolized him.”
