The Boston Celtics are patiently waiting for Jayson Tatum to return and the franchise superstar is close to get back to court after clearing NBA’s health and safety protocols.

“He worked out yesterday, real briefly,” Stevens said, per Boston.com. “I think he did some work back in Boston today. He feels great. He’s out of the protocol but now he has to ramp back up the activity.”

Tatum tested positive to coronavirus after trip to Miami that resulted in postponing Boston’s next three games due to contact tracing protocols.

The Celtics’ superstar could be available in game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday. Tatum has had a strong start to the 2020-21 season averaging 26.9 points per game.

The Celtics have an 1-1 record including a blowout loss to the New York Knicks in the games Tatum missed so far.
