Lithuanian League runners-up Neptunas Klaipeda announced on Friday the addition of big man Keith Benson for the remainder of the season.

Benson (2.11 meters, 26 years old) played last season with Tsmoki Minsk in the VTB League, where he averaged 15.6 points and 7.7 rebounds in 14 games. Benson also played in Italy briefly in 2011 with Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari and after that, he was back to the United States to play on several D-League teams.

He also had a short tenure at the Golden State Warriors in the NBA, and after two seasons in the States, he went to the Philippines and signed with the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters in 2013.

Benson is expected to arrive to Klaipeda early next week and could make his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut in the regular season Round 4 against Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul on the road.

“We have been looking for a big man for some time now,” Neptunas head coach Kazys Maksvytis said. “We hope that Benson will strengthen our frontcourt an make games easier for us. We have played against him in the VTB League and we know what he’s capable of.”
