Free agent veteran forward Taj Gibson is reportedly receiving interest from multiple NBA teams, especially the New York Knicks.

Gibson, 35, has worked out for seven teams including the Washington Wizards, a person close to Gibson told Marc Berman of The New York Post.

“He’s in shape,” the person said. “There’s no hard feelings. He knows it’s a business.”

Gibson spent last season with the Knicks where he played 62 games (56 starts) and averaged 6.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

While the Knicks waived Gibson back in November, the two sides still had mutual interest in a possible reunion and the Knicks have “touched base” with Gibson recently, according to Ian Begley of SNY.tv.

People within the Knicks organization like the idea of bringing Gibson back “because of the role he played on and off the court for New York last season,” per Begley.

Gibson was seen as a mentor to center Mitchell Robinson.

He also has a history with head coach Tom Thibodeau, as Gibson played for him with the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Knicks have dealt with injuries in their frontcourt, as Nerlens Noel and Obi Toppin are both currently out.

If they ultimately want to sign Gibson, the Knicks would have to waive a player on their 15-man roster to free up a spot.
