The Atlanta Hawks will be without veteran point guard Rajon Rondo for at least the next three games, according to the team.

Rondo will enter a period of rest and rehabilitation to strengthen his right knee and will be reviewed prior to the team’s three-game West Coast trip, the team announced.

If the timetable given by the Hawks holds up, Rondo will miss two games against the Charlotte Hornets (Jan. 6 and Jan. 9) and one against the Philadelphia 76ers (Jan. 11).

He will then have the opportunity to return against the Phoenix Suns on Jan. 13.

The 34-year-old has played two games this season, averaging 6.0 points and 7.0 assists per game.
