The Philadelphia 76ers remained on top of the Eastern Conference after claiming a blowout win over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday (101-118).

The Sixers’ superstar Joel Embiid talked about his resurrected love of passing the ball to his open teammates. At the same time, he claimed that he trusts his team more this season when he finds an open teammate.

“I think it’s more so, I’m just rekindled with the love of passing,” Embiid said, via Ky Karlin of USA Today Sports. “Last year, at times, a double, a pass and you miss a lot of shots. You get frustrating and then you start thinking that you got to do everything by yourself because everybody’s not making shots.”

Embiid is a force of nature in the low block as he is the most dominant center in that regard. Embiid had another double-double (14 pts, 11 rebs) in the game against the Hornets, while he dished out a season-high four assists.

The Sixers’ started the 2020/campaign on a high-note recording six wins in their first seven games and Embiid has a huge part in their early-season success.

The All-Star center is averaging 23.2, 12.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game shooting 52.3% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc in six games.

Doc Rivers’ team went on a 6-0 record in the games Embiid was available. The Sixers will now move on to take on the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
