Cedevita Zagreb received another injury blow with the news that it has lost forward Marko Tomas for a month.
One of club’s most experienced players suffered a hamstring injury in practice on Tuesday. An MRI has determined a tear in the muscle of his right leg that will require several weeks of therapy, and Tomas is expected to be back practicing in three-to-four weeks.
It’s a set-back in Tomas’s attempt to return to the court, after missing most of last season with Achilles rupture he suffered at the end of October 2013. Tomas played his first significant minutes last week in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague opener against Unicaja Malaga, scoring 5 points and grabbing 4 rebounds in 25 minutes on the floor.
The Croatian champion faces Limoges CSP on Friday and will again be without point guard Roko Ukic, who also out with a hamstring issue.
