In his appearance on The Old Man and The Three podcast with JJ Redick and Tommy Alter, a former NBA point guard JJ Barea, who last played for the Dallas Mavericks, talks about playing with the Mavs star Luka Doncic and how he hasn’t even really scratched the surface yet:

Doncic has played three seasons for Dallas. His career averages are 24.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 7.2 assists in 138 regular-season games. He has been selected to play in one All-Star Game.

Meanwhile, Barea has played 14 seasons for the Mavericks and Timberwolves. His career averages are 8.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists in 831 regular-season games.

On August 19, 2019, Barea was re-signed by Dallas. He played in 29 games that season, averaging 15.5 minutes per game. Puerto Rico star re-signed for another year on December 1, 2020. Nine days later, he was waived.
