Andrew Wiggins has received heavy criticism through the years, since he entered the league as the first overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft.

However, after Tuesday’s performance against the Detroit Pistons, the Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr had nothing but praise for his player.

(via USA Today Sports):

He [Andrew Wiggins] was phenomenal, and he just took over the game — knocking down threes, getting to the rim, getting to the foul line. Yeah, Andrew was fantastic that whole fourth quarter. I don’t know how many points he scored in the fourth — seventeen, that was just huge.

Indeed, Wiggins was phenomenal racking up 27 points on a 9-of-19 shooting performance. He also added seven rebounds and three assists taking over in the fourth quarter of the game.

He and Steph Curry combined for 58 points to lead the Warriors to their second consecutive win. At the start of the new season, Wiggins is averaging 17.8 points on 36.8% shooting from the field with six rebounds and two assists per game.
