The Damian Lillard-led Portland Trail Blazers beat the NBA title-defending Los Angeles Lakers 115-107 on Monday night. Gary Trent Jr. matched his career-high with seven 3-pointers while scoring 28 points coming off the bench for Portland.

On the other hand, LeBron James posted 29 points, nine rebounds, and six assists for Los Angeles, who finished 2-2 on their season-opening homestand. Newcomer guard Dennis Schroder added 24 points.

After the game, a former NFL tight end Shannon Sharpe shared his thoughts on the Lakers’ loss to the Blazers:

“Gary Trent Jr. developed a step back and can take people off the dribble now. Then it was Dolla Time in the 4th quarter… Lakers got nothing from the bench and AD has to get more involved.”
