Anthony Edwards registered his first regular season game for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the season opener against the Detroit Pistons.

Edwards came strong in his official debut to put up 15 points along with four rebounds and four assists off the bench. After his Timberwolves recorded their first win of the new season, the 2020 first overall pick talked on the different level of attention in the NBA.

(via Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic):

“It’s not that hard to be honest, coming out of being double-teamed in college. … Even if it’s a lot of defensive attention, it’s still easier. You can’t double all game. We got too many shooters.”

Edwards came on a team with enough shooting and offensive talent in every position. In particular, Karl-Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley can score from different positions on the court.

Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are hoping for a postseason return this year, after adding more talent during the past offseason.
