The Los Angeles Lakers will start the 2020-2021 NBA season as defending champions. The pressure will be on the Purple & Gold to defend their title. Four-time champion LeBron James is confident that his team has what it takes to repeat even though the Lakers will have a different roster this coming season.

He stressed the importance of players staying healthy as one of the key factors to success. LeBron also pointed out at the fact that the team got younger by adding Dennis Schroder and Montrezl Harrell, both 27-year-olds.

“We can [repeat]. I mean, it’s that simple. I mean, we absolutely can. Like RJ [Richard Jefferson] said with the Nets. First of all, it all starts with health. You have to have some luck. You have to have health. If we can stay healthy. We did get younger,” LeBron told Allie Clifton, Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye on Road Trippin’ podcast.

“We got a 27-year-old point guard. We got a 27-year-old Sixth Man of the Year award in Trez. We got younger. We got Marc who’s Defensive Player of the Year. His IQ. Not only playing against him in the NBA but also playing against him versus Spain with the national team.”
