New York getting a top defender in MKG.

The New York Knicks have agreed to sign veteran forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to a one year deal, per Bobby Marks of ESPN.

The 27-year-old made 13 appearances for the Dallas Mavericks last season after an eight-year stint with the Charlotte Hornets. Drafted No.2 overall by Charlotte in 2012, MKG was waived this February before joining the Mavs, with whom he had a limited role during the playoffs.
