Danilo Gallinari is not expected to be a starter for the Atlanta Hawks next season, according to team GM Travis Schlenk.

Schlenk said the team made it clear to Gallinari that he will come off the bench as the backup of John Collins.

“We made it clear that the role that (Danilo Gallinari) was signing up for was to come in and be a backup behind John (Collins),” Schlenk said, via Hawks reporter Kevin Chouinard.

Gallinari, who averaged 18.7 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Thunder last season, signed a three-year, $61.5M contract with Atlanta.
