Quinn Cook will not be a part of the Los Angeles Lakers for the coming season. The 27-year-old point guard is being waived by the defending NBA champions, according to Shams Charania.

Cook was on a two-year contract worth $6 million with the Lakers. The 2020-2021 season was not guaranteed. The two-time NBA champion would have earned $3 million the coming season.

According to Charania, Cook will receive $1 million out his $3 million deal for the coming season.

Last season, Cook played 44 regular season for the Lakers averaging 5.1 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He appeared in six playoff games for the eventual champion averaging 2.2 points, 0.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.
