Brandon Jennings had a game for the ages on this date in 2009. He dropped 55 points as a rookie and led his Milwaukee Bucks to a 129-125 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Jennings shot 21-34 from the field, including 7-8 on 3-pointers. In the third quarter he outscored the Warriors 29-26.

No rookie had scored that many points in a game since Earl “The Pearl” Monroe scored 56 points in 1968. No rookie has scored 55 points in a game since Jennings.

Jennings himself, has never scored 40 points in a game since his remarkable performance against the Warriors, which came in the seventh game of his career. He last played in the NBA during the 2017-18 season.
