Sacramento Kings assistant coach Bob Beyer is joining Stan Van Gundy’s coaching staff with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Beyer, 58, has previously served on Van Gundy’s staffs with the Orlando Magic from 2007-2012 and the Detroit Pistons from 2014-2018.

He was promoted to associate head coach for his last two seasons with the Pistons from 2016-2018.

After his time with the Pistons, Beyer spent the 2018-2019 season as an assistant with the Oklahoma City Thunder before joining the Kings staff this past season.

Beyer also had brief stints with the Toronto Raptors (2003-2004), Golden State Warriors (2012-2013) and Charlotte Bobcats (2013-2014).

Along with Beyer, the Kings also lost another assistant coach in Igor Kokoskov, who left to become the next head coach of Fenerbahce.

Kokoskov’s spot was filled by former Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry, who was ultimately replaced by Van Gundy.

The Pelicans hired Van Gundy to a four-year deal on Oct. 21.
