Following the most recent COVID-19 tests, Barcelona’s head coach, Saras Jasikevicius, and assistant coach, Darius Maskoliunas, tested positive for coronavirus. For that reason, the club decided to put the players in quarantine for precautionary purposes. With that being said, Nick Calathes was seen in the center of Barcelona, breaking the quarantine imposed by the club.
The players had to stay at home for a couple of days but, according to reports from La Vanguardia, Nick Calathes was seen on Monday eating in a restaurant in the center of Barcelona.
Following the Euroleague protocol, if a player has been tested positive for COVID-19, the player must stay in isolation for two weeks and do two negative PCR tests before returning to action. In case more than one people are positive, then the entire team must be tested but isolation will not be required. In this case, it is Barça itself who decided to confine the squad in a preventive way.
