Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe reacted to the Los Angeles Clippers parting ways with head coach Doc Rivers. According to him, the season, which started with high expectations after the Clippers acquired Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, was an ‘epic failure’.

The Clippers blew a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference semifinals against the Denver Nuggets and did not even get a chance for a place in the NBA Finals, let alone win a championship.

Sharpe says someone had to pay for the failed season and it happened to be Rivers. “Someone had to pay for this, it was an epic failure. When you put 2 superstars together and mortgage your future, the results need to be immediate. And this is not the results that Steve Ballmer envisioned when he mortgaged his future as far as draft picks,” he said on UNDISPUTED.
