Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard suffered a dislocated left index finger on his non-shooting hand and X-rays came back negative, the team announced.

There’s already optimism that Lillard will play in Game 3 on Aug. 22, according to Shams Charania.

With 1:44 left in the third quarter and the Trail Blazers down 30 to the Los Angeles Lakers, Lillard tried to poke the ball away from Anthony Davis and his finger caught Davis’ shoe.

Here is the play:

Lillard finished the game with 18 points, three rebounds and one assist in a 111-88 loss.

The Trail Blazers need Lillard at full strength to have a shot at upsetting the No. 1 seed Lakers.
