Former NBA player and University of Arizona Wildcat Jason Terry has accepted an assistant coaching job at his alma mater.

Terry will leave his role as assistant GM of the Texas Legends, the Dallas Mavericks’ G League affiliate.

Terry was drafted 10th overall out of Arizona in 1999 and played 19 years in the NBA, spending most of his career with the Atlanta Hawks and Mavericks.

He won an NBA championship with the Mavericks in 2011 and Sixth Man of the Year in 2009.

Arizona is still waiting for NCAA sanctions against them after an FBI investigation that almost put head coach Sean Miller’s job in jeopardy and forced him to fire an assistant coach.
