‘Blackballed’ documentary presents an inside look on how the Los Angeles Clippers dealt with the Donald Sterling saga during the 2014-2015 season.

The leaked Sterling tapes posed one of the greatest existential crises the league had ever faced, before the pandemic.

Sterling was banned from the NBA for life and fined $2.5 million by the league after private recordings of him making racist comments were made public.

“Blackballed” cut into episodes shorter than 10 minutes and dives into the way that several members of the Clippers organization and the NBA association dealt with the fallout of the leaked tapes.

The situation with Sterling was a turning point for the NBA as the association showed it’s a players’ league, while it encouraged athletes to delve into the social commentary even more.

Blackballed can be watched through multiple platforms. The last of 12 total episodes will be released on Friday.
