Ben Simmons joined Slam’s Instagram Live on Wednesday night to talk about his shoes, a part of a Nike and Jordan Brand Pregame Pack that also includes sneakers from Luka Doncic, De’Aaron Fox and Britney Griner.
“Growing up, I used to wear a lot of Chuck [Taylors]. It has that kind of look, that dirty feel,” Simmons said, per NBC Sports. “I try to represent my country and my people at the highest level. … I’m very prideful to be Australian. I’m big on trying to do the right things and setting the right examples for my country,” Simmons noted.
He also referred to his work during the quarantine, trying to be ready in a possible NBA season resumption.
“Been working, staying locked in, of course. … Never know what’s going to happen, but staying ready,” he added.
