Los Angeles Lakers forward Jared Dudley was asked by Ashley Nevel to share his perspective on the GOAT debate. The veteran thinks comparing players from different eras does take away from the greatness of each player. At the same time, he understands that sports is entertainment and media needs the debate to go on.
Nevel also asked Dudley if LeBron James thinks of himself as the greatest player of all time. “For sure,” the Lakers forward responded, “I think Kobe thought that too to be honest with you.”
He also said it’s comparing apples to oranges when players from different eras are being compared. Michael Jordan has more titles but James has more finals appearances and higher longevity. So, the conclusion depends on what criteria are applied to determine the winner.
