EA7 Milano look set to miss guard Alessandro Gentile for up to six weeks due to a leg injury, Italian media have reported.

The Italian international was helped off after Milano’s 76-71 win at home to Cantu as they maintain top spot in Serie A. Italian journalist Pietro Scibetta reported the news, which was confirmed by the club.

Despite Gentile’s injury, which rules him out for the Euroleague quarter-final series with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv and possibly EA7 Milano’s final day meeting with second-placed Montepaschi Siena in the league where the title could be up for grabs, Milano should be able to welcome top scorer Keith Langford back into the line-up for the first game of the Euroleague quarter-final against Maccabi.

Gentile, who averaged 14 points a game at Eurobasket last summer in Slovenia was looking forward to what he wanted to be his best season domestically for EA7 Milano.

This is a dent in the surprise package’s Final Four dreams though, as they look to become the first side to play in a Final Four at home. Panathinaikos were the last team to have that privilege back in 2007 and they won the title in that year.
