The O2 and British Basketball League are thrilled to announce the BBL Play-Off Final will take place on 10 May 2015 in front of an expected 17,000 strong crowd.

Reflecting the commercial growth and popularity of British Basketball League action which has seen a string of sell-out showpiece finals, the annual climax of the season will move from Wembley Arena to the south London iconic venue in 2015 due to popular demand.

“It’s a real coup and exciting step for us to be making the move to The O2 for what is always a fitting finale to any BBL season and it’s difficult to imagine a more appropriate backdrop to what is always a truly memorable occasion,” said Andy Webb, BBL Chief Operating Officer.

“The venue is already synonymous with big basketball events and we can’t wait to put on the kind of show which has seen sell-outs at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham for the BBL Cup Final and at Wembley Arena last year at the 2013 BBL Play-off Final.

“To be having to make this move due to the demand from fans is a satisfying measurement of progress and makes the footprint we are putting down for British Basketball even more prominent.”

Rebecca Kane, General Manager at The O2 said: “We are delighted to be hosting the 2015 BBL Play-Off Final in our arena. Sporting events always have such an electric atmosphere here so it’s fantastic to have this to look forward to next year. We are keen supporters of British sport, and I am very excited demand has been so high for the event that it is being moved to our iconic venue for the first time.”
