Real Madrid remain unbeaten in the Liga Endesa after ten games but this week’s biggest winners were Barcelona as they thrashed bottom side Valladolid.

Barcelona thrashed Valladolid 109-50 to go third in the Liga Endesa table.

Leading from the opening minutes of the game, the Euroleague giants led 30-16 after one period of play and extended it to 55-22 at the half, leaving lonely Valladolid without a chance.

Ante Tomic led six Barcelona players in double figures as he scored 17 points and pulled down 7 rebounds. Joey Dorsey had a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Omari Johnson had just under half of Valladolid’s points as he posted 20 points but his side remain bottom.

Valencia stay second but nearly spurred a double-digit lead against UCAM Murcia, in the end they hung on to win 88-86.

With 7 seconds remaining, Murcia drew a final play up but the set was muddled and in the end, a rushed three-pointer from Berni Rodriguez was way short and Valencia stayed in touch with Real Madrid.

Madrid went 10-0 after crushing Manresa 82-59. The first quarter however was a scrappy defensive battle with last season’s Euroleague runners-up only 11-9 up.

As the game wore on though, Madrid’s class began to tell as they eased to victory, keeping Manresa in 15th.

Sergio Llull led all scorers for Real with 21 points, helped along by Felipe Reyes’ 18 points and 9 rebounds.

Mike Muscala led Manresa with 12.

Gipuzkoa caused the week’s big upset by downing Unicaja Malaga 69-61 at home and as a result of the loss, Malaga drop to third.

David Doblas led Gipuzkoa with 19 points as they move to sixth. Jayson Granger had 19 for Malaga.

Another Euroleague team to taste defeat was Laboral Kutxa as they lost 83-74 away at Joventut Badalona.

Trailing 47-42, Badalona stormed back, taking the third quarter 29-8 as Laboral crumbled. From there, the hosts cruised to victory.

John Shurna hit four triples on his way to a game-high 18 points. Fernando San Emeterio led Laboral with 13 points and five rebounds.

Other games in the league saw Bilbao win on the road against Cajasol Seville 75-72. The game was overshadowed somewhat because of a nasty looking injury to Seville’s Latavious Williams who fell awkwardly on his right ankle chasing a loose ball in the third quarter. Early reports in Spain suggest he is likely to be out for 4-6 weeks.

Alex Mumbru led the winners with 19 points as Bilbao are now in 11th.

Gran Canaria managed to edge Zaragoza 58-55 at home to keep fifth spot. Ben Hansbrough had 15 points to lead the hosts.

Fuenlabrada beat La Bruixa d’Or 81-73 in a basement battle. Fuenlabrada now move to 14th following this win as Andy Panko hit an unstoppable 24 points for the win.

Tenerife-based Canarias were victorious as they won on the road 88-85 against Estudiantes. Biagota Sekulic hit 18 points to pace the victors.
